Northwoods Rail

For WCGroup “Northwoods Rail” includes CN/WC and other rail lines serving:

  • Wisconsin North of Green Bay, Wausau, and Chippewa Falls;

  • Upper Michigan;

  • Minnesota’s Arrowhead Region;

  • Ontario north to Hearst; and

  • Ontario and Manitoba north to Winnipeg and Thunder Bay.

The lines making up Northwoods Rail encompass the Great Lakes Forest resources. Our particular focus is transportation of raw and manufactured forest products. CN/WCG’s Log Committee, principally, and also CN/WCG’s Intermodal Committee focus on development of freight density on these lines. WCG supports activities of the Northwoods Rail Transit Commission which have the same objective. See (you will be leaving WCG’s site):
