Northwoods Rail

For WCGroup “Northwoods Rail” includes CN/WC and other rail lines serving:

  • Wisconsin north of Green Bay, Wausau, and Chippewa Falls;

  • Upper Michigan;

  • Minnesota's Arrowhead Region;

  • Ontario north to Hearst; and

  • Ontario and Manitoba north to Winnipeg and Thunder Bay.

  • These lines encompass the Great Lakes Forest resources. Our particular focus is transportation of raw and manufactured forest products.
  • CN/WCG's, principally, and also CN/WCG''s focus on development of freight density on these lines. WCG supports activities of the Northwoods Rail Transit Commission which have the same objective. See (you will be leaving WCG's site): Northwoods Rail Transit Commission.
